Ben Taylor of Stafford’s Chocolates and Mama Ganache Artisan Chocolates is Africa bound! In a quest to learn as much as possible about how chocolate is grown, processed and exported, Ben will be traveling with Chef Tom Neuhaus and Project Hope & Fairness to Côte d'Ivoire (the Ivory Coast). While there, Ben and Tom will be visiting multiple villages to see cocoa farms firsthand, learn about harvesting processes and visit with those whose livelihoods are directly tied to the chocolate we know and love. Along the way, the focus will be on sustainability with a goal towards helping African cocoa farmers to manufacture chocolate in their own villages and export their product directly to the U.S and the E.U. We are looking forward to sharing in Ben’s adventure over the next week and are excited to share his travels with you!
